How to use
Getting Started
1. Check your size. Measure your waist circumference with a measuring tape and compare against the size chart below. If you are between sizes, size up for a more relaxed fit.
2. Put them on. The shorts have an elastic waistband — pull on like any pair of lounge shorts. The shielding lining sits between the outer shell and the inner lining. You do not need to position or adjust anything. The silver fiber layer covers the entire interior from waistband to hem.
3. Use the side pockets. Slide your phone into a side pocket for shielded carry. The silver fiber lining extends into the pocket area, placing a layer of shielding between the phone and your body.
Maximizing Shielding
• The shorts shield what the fabric covers. Your upper thighs, groin, and reproductive organs are shielded from waistband to hem. Areas above and below the shorts are not shielded.
• For laptop use, pair with the DefenderPad. The shorts block wireless RF radiation from passing through the fabric to your lap. However, they do not block Extremely Low Frequency (ELF) emissions from your laptop’s battery and power supply, and they do not block heat. The DefenderPad Laptop Shield adds ELF and heat shielding for direct laptop-on-lap use.
• Wear during sleep for overnight shielding. The shorts provide continuous passive shielding while you sleep — useful if your bedroom has strong ambient WiFi, or a nearby cell tower.
Care Instructions
• Minimize washing. Silver fiber is naturally anti-microbial and anti-odor, so frequent washing is not necessary.
• When needed, gentle handwashing is recommended. Use lukewarm water below 30°C (86°F) with a neutral laundry detergent. Spot cleaning is ideal for minor blemishes.
• Do not bleach. Do not machine wash or machine dry. Do not tumble dry.
• Air dry only. Lay flat or hang to dry.
• Avoiding machine washing and drying helps maintain the integrity of the silver fibers, preserving shielding effectiveness over time.
